2009 Student Film Festival

Our Fourth Annual Festival  on August 17, 2009 was a huge success, drawing filmmakers, their families and many community film lovers to fill the Greenport Theatre to overflow capacity!

The kick-off, was a presentation of the collaborative  piece which was the result of the summer's claymation/animation classes in July and August.  With the help of mentors, and professionals who visited our studio, "The 2nd Greatest Show on Earth" was premiered to enthusiastic response.

We are also pleased to acknowledge that the Filmmaking Boot Camp resulted in 8 young students submitting finalist films.

Thanks to our great instructors: Ellen Nora Goldstein and Rory MacNish, and of course the many volunteers who made up the support team.

Students!  Start planning your script for next year's submissions now!

2008 Student Film Festival

Our third annual festival was a success! With over 200 filmmakers, family members, friends, and movie stars in the audience, 24 films were showcased on the silver screen. With entries from our youngest filmmaker, at 7 years of age, to our esteemed college competitors, commercials, PSAs, documentaries, dramas, and music videos were  highly applauded.

A good time was had by all, as can be seen here:

An interview corner was set up for the filmmakers to discuss both the pleasures and difficulties of filmmaking, and their hopes and dreams for future films.

Our youngest filmmaker, Clark Vines (7), is interviewed about his film "The Guy Who Burped at Dinner".

Our presenters, Tara Evans and Paul Henry, conference quickly before opening remarks.

The House was nearly full!

The cast and crew of the winner of Best Documentary, Sean Rising.

The crowd enjoyed refreshments by Aldo's, Cuvee Restaurant, Maria Kostoulas, Elizabeth Matikas, and Sophia Yunakov after the show.

To date, East End Student Film Project has hosted three successful film festivals, which showcased over 60 films created by students from the East End. Some of these films have gone on to other competitions, winning awards and accolades.
