An Open Letter to Potential Sponsors

This is a very exciting time for the East End Student Film Project. Since its inception in 2006, the EESFP has strived to become an important resource for young people interested in film and video as a vocation, artistic outlet or means of communication and expression, and now the opportunity exists to extend the program to local students via a filmmaking program at Floyd Memorial Library in Greenport beginning in February.

This will provide previously unavailable opportunities to high school- and college-age students here on the North Fork, with a special emphasis on diversity and reaching students whose family's financial circumstances might otherwise preclude such opportunities.

There are some significant costs associated with this goal -- for equipment, materials, faculty, etc. -- and that's why we are seeking additional sponsorship at this time. The levels of financial participation we are talking about are extremely modest, yet can have a significant impact on the lives of the young filmmakers we are attempting to reach.

We see this as an exciting opportunity for these student filmmakers, as well as an opportunity to enhance the community as a whole, and we hope you will give serious consideration to supporting the EESFP.

Please do not hesitate to contact me directly with any questions regarding our program.

Sincerely,

Paul Henry
